‘Mike the Knight’, the brand new series from HIT Entertainment, one of the world’s leading independent children’s entertainment producers and rights-owners, gallops onto CBeebies today for its UK broadcast premiere. The CG animated series co-produced with Nelvana Studio will air every weekday at 4.05pm starting this afternoon

The series debut follows an extensive marketing and publicity campaign which over the past week has included promotion via on-air trails on CBeebies. ‘Mike the Knight’ is also set to feature on the channel’s website, plus the official consumer site is now also live www.miketheknight.com giving children a chance to familiarise themselves with the characters, play games and print out a selection of activities.

The CBeebies premiere follows a successful launch on Canada’s Treehouse and will be shortly followed by TF1 in France. The series is also set to air over the next 12 months on ABC in Australia, SVT in Sweden, DR in Denmark and NRK in Norway.

Chris Rose VP Programming and Development HIT Entertainment says: “Mike has been many years in the making and we are thrilled that the day has finally arrived when the nation’s pre-schoolers will be able to watch our brand new hero for the very first time.”

Mike the Knight is a new 52 x 12' CGI series which transports viewers back in time to a magical medieval age. Mike is a young boy with a big future ahead of him. The son of the King and Queen of Glendragon, he is determined to follow in his father's footsteps to become a brave and noble knight. With the triumphant motto “Be a Knight, do it right” the would-be hero is joined in his adventures by a host of characters including his trusty steed Galahad, two friendly dragons, Squirt and Sparkie, and his sister Evie, a trainee wizard.
