HIT Entertainment, one of the world’s leading independent children’s entertainment producers and rights-owners, has announced that it has signed six more licensees for its new pre-school property Mike the Knight, bringing the total of licensees already on board to 26.

Already dressed for success with major categories signed for toys, publishing, arts and crafts, apparel and accessories, the new licensees include:

  • Amscan – party paperware

  • Gemma – greetings cards

  • Pyramid –posters

  • Character World – bedding

  • Fine Décor – wall décor

  • Vogue -  Melamine products and lighting

Commenting on the deals Tracy Griffiths, Senior Director Hit Brands – EMEA said: “To say that Mike the Knight has caused a stir with licensees is an understatement. The fact that so many high profile companies want to work with our gallant hero reinforces our long held view that Mike is set to charge into the hearts and minds of pre-schoolers everywhere.”

The series is due to air on CBeebies in the UK and TF1 in France this autumn  and already airs on Treehouse in Canada. It is also set to broadcast on ABC Australia, SVT Sweden, NRK Norway and YLE Finland.

Co-produced with Corus Entertainment's Nelvana Studio Mike the Knight is a new 52 x 12' CGI series which transports viewers back in time to a magical medieval age. Mike is a young boy with a big future ahead of him. The son of the King and Queen of Glendragon, he is determined to follow in his father's footsteps to become a brave and noble knight. With the triumphant motto “Be a Knight, do it right” the would-be hero is joined in his adventures by a host of characters including his trusty steed Galahad, two friendly dragons, Squirt and Sparkie, and his sister Evie, a trainee wizard.
