International sensation Roary the Racing Car™ is zooming onto store shelves in the U.S. in early 2011. Following a successful U.S. broadcast launch on 24-hour preschool television channel Sprout®, the much anticipated new Roary™ line including toys from Bandai America Incorporated and K'NEX® hits Toys"R"Us® stores and Toysrus.com this Spring. Roary's first U.S. DVD, Roary The Racing Car, from Lionsgate Home Entertainment, will also launch at mass retailers in June. In addition, new never-before-seen in the U.S. television episodes will air on Sprout in April 2011. Roary the Racing Car was created by Chapman Entertainment and is represented by HIT Entertainment in North America.
As the U.S. master toy licensee for the speed-loving racing car Roary and all his friends, Bandai America Incorporated will offer a full line of Roary toy products perfect for preschool children in multiple categories including die-cast, push-along Racing Stars, Talking Turbo Vehicles, Roary R/C , Silver Hatch Racetrack playsets and more. Three key items - die cast vehicles, Talking Turbo Vehicles and the R/C Roary - will be packaged with a special episode of Roary the Racing Car on DVD. All products will be age-graded 3 years and up, and will be available at Toys"R"Us and Toysrus.com beginning in March.
Following the Bandai toy launch, Roary fans will be able to find Roary building sets from K'NEX exclusively at Toys "R"Us beginning in March. The sets include buildable vehicles utilizing the popular and award-winning KID K'NEX interlocking parts, which will allow fans to recreate favorite characters and scenes from the Roary television series. The new Roary toys will be supported with television advertising and an online campaign.
Narrated in the U.S. by Indy and NASCAR racer Sam Hornish Jr., Roary the Racing Car was launched exclusively in the U.S. on Sprout in fall 2008. Roary has also performed notably well on Sprout On Demand, on average ranking in the network's top 10 programs requested. In April new episodes, never-before-seen in the U.S., will air on Sprout. To celebrate the new toys and episodes, Sprout will host a special phone-in with Roary live on its Sunny Side Up Show. SproutForParents.com will host a giveaway competition of new Roary the Racing Car toys from Bandai. Sprout will also support the giveaway with a thirty-second promotional spot. In addition, special Roary programming will air on April 8th from 1 - 3 pm.
Continuing the Roary momentum, on Tuesday, June 7, HIT Entertainment and Lionsgate Home Entertainment will launch the first Roary home entertainment release in the U.S. Self-titled Roary the Racing Car, the DVD will feature never-before-seen episodes from the series and will be available at mass retailers nationwide. Previews of Roary episodes, DVD inserts and the Roary The Racing Car trailer are also offered on select HIT home entertainment titles of Thomas & Friends, Barney and Bob The Builder, and more, generating more than 500,000 impressions surrounding the DVD launch.
