HIT Entertainment, one of the world's leading independent children's entertainment producers and rights owners, has today announced that it has presold new animation Mike the Knight to four further territories. The medieval preschool series has now been acquired by ABC Australia, SVT Sweden, DRTV Denmark and NRK in Norway, bringing the total number of presales to date to seven.

The series is set to premiere on Treehouse in Canada this September, TF1 in France in October and CBeebies in the UK in November. The four new territories are due to launch the series shortly after.

Commenting on the latest acquisitions Alison Homewood EVP of Worldwide Programming HIT Entertainment said: "It is testament to the strength of Mike the Knight that so many broadcasters have picked up the series before we've had an episode to show them. We will be showcasing our first full episode at MIPTV and are confident that this will create an even greater appetite for this new pre-school sensation."

Co-produced with Corus Entertainment's Nelvana Studio Mike the Knight is a 52 x 12' CGI series set to transport viewers back in time to an age filled with castles, quests, and dragons. Mike is a 10-year old boy with a big future ahead of him. The son of the King and Queen of Glendragon, he is determined to follow in his father's footsteps to become a brave and noble knight. With the triumphant motto "Be a knight, do it right" the would-be hero is joined in his adventures by a host of mediaeval characters including his trusty steed Galahad, two eccentric dragons Squirt and Sparkie and his sister Evie, a trainee wizard.

The series was created by Alexander Bar (Lunar Jim) and is penned by Marc Seal (Head Writer, Bob the Builder™).

Other shows from the HIT stable being taken to MIPTV include Thomas & Friends series 1-15 , Fireman Sam series 1-8, Angelina Ballerina series 1-6 and Bob the Builder series 1-18.

In its capacity as distribution agent, HIT will also enter MIPTV with an additional 65 episodes of CGI pre-school animation series MuMuHug from Taiwan's SOFA Studio, the second series of popular underwater CGI animation Shelldon from Thailand's Shellhut Entertainment and further episodes of Little Charley Bear from Chapman Entertainment.
