HIT Entertainment, one of the world’s leading children’s entertainment producers and rights owners, has today announced that its CG animated pre-school property Mike the Knight is continuing to storm forth internationally with ten new TV sales and three licensing agent agreements.

The series has been sold to Super RTL (Germany) and the broadcaster has also been appointed as the property’s licensing agent in the territory.

Furthermore, an additional nine territories have bought the series. These include: Cartoon Network (Italy), Hop TV! (Israel), YLE (Finland), RTE (Ireland), NOS (Netherlands), VRT (Belgium), Minimax (Eastern Europe), Canal Panda (Portugal) and EBS (South Korea).  This brings the total number of international broadcast sales for the medieval pre-school property to 17.

Mike the Knight’s international expansion also continues with the appointment of CPLG Benelux and TF1 Licenses as licensing agents in their respective territories.

Commenting on the latest acquisitions Alison Homewood, EVP of Worldwide Programming, HIT Entertainment said: “Mike has received a fantastic reaction from international buyers. This prestigious list of new broadcasters will significantly increase the programme’s international reach.”

Jon Owen Senior Vice President HIT Brands Global said: “Having secured this strong raft of TV sales we can now roll out our international licensing programmes in these key territories. We are thrilled to have such high profile agents on board and look forward to working with them to help achieve our mission of making Mike an international sensation.”

These latest deals follow the successful launch of the series on TF1 (France), CBeebies (UK), Treehouse (Canada) and Nick Jr US, where it enjoys high ratings, and last week Mike The Knight premiered on ABC Australia.

The series was created by Alexander Bar (Lunar Jim) with Head Writer Marc Seal (Head Writer, Bob the Builder).
