Here's a 4 Part Attack that'll give you a whole fleet of supersonic jets!

You will need:
  • Cardboard box card
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • PVA glue
  • Paint
  • Black permanent pen
  • Sticky tape
  • String
  • Cotton wool
  • Paintbrush
Take a large piece of cardboard box card and draw a long curved line, like this.
At one end, leave a gap of about 5cm and draw a second curved line that gradually gets thinner as you move towards the other end.
Then join the lines up at the thicker end.
At the thinner end, draw in the simple shape of the side of an aeroplane.
Cut the whole thing out, then use it as a template to draw around.

You need to make another five - six in total.
To add detail to the jet, cut out some triangles of cardboard box card...
...and glue them into position on the side of the jets, for wings.
Paint the jets whichever colour you fancy.

Red looks good.
Don't forget to add detail like a white cockpit...
...and a stripe down the side.
When the paint has dried you can add on extra detail using a permanent black pen, like this.
Paint all the jets in this way.
Next, draw around a mug onto some more cardboard box card, and cut the circle out.
Draw a smaller circle, about the size of a 2p coin, in the middle of the cardboard circle.
Next, use a pen to draw in the position of six slots between the two circles.

Draw one at the top, one at the bottom and two at equal distances on each side.
Cut the slots out, so that you have something that looks like this...
...then make a hole through the middle.

Thread some string through the hole.

Tie a knot in the back.
Take one of the jets and push it into one of the slots, about half way up the curved card...
...and tape it in place.
Do the same to the other jets.

Just push them into the slots and again, use plenty of sticky tape to hold them in position.
You should now have something that looks like this!
For the next step, brush some PVA glue onto the curved bits of card...
...and stick on pieces of cotton wool.

Cover both sides of all six jet trails, and don't forget to cover over the card circle in the middle as well.
And that's it - finished!

Why not hang it up in your room, like this?
For other ideas, what about some supersonic fairies?
Or witches?
Or even a supersonic Santa?

Try it yourself!
