Do you like magic? Here's one trick you can do easily, if you make a Magic Picture Frame!

You will need:
  • Thin Card
  • Felt Tips
  • Pencil
  • Marker Pen
  • Scissors
  • Stick Glue
Start off with a sheet of thin card (or thick paper) that is roughly three times bigger than a sheet of A4 paper, like this.
Divide it into three equal sections, then fold one section over the line and into the middle.

Then the fold the other section in, too.
You should now have one side flap folded under the other.
Keep it folded closed, and use a pencil to draw a rough rectangle that's about 3cm in from the edge.
On the right hand edge, draw a semicircle, as you can see opposite.

Then cut out the rectangle out - taking care to cut only the the top flap!
Cut the semicircle out of all three sections.

You should now have something that looks like this!
Next, cut a piece of paper that's the same size as all the frame when it's all folded up.
Sketch a picture onto the paper using pencil.
When you've finished the sketch, colour it using felt tip pens.

Once you've finished, rub out the pencil lines. Don't worry if the picture looks unfinished at this stage!
Next you'll need a plastic document wallet. You can get these from art shops, or stationers - even from some newsagents.

Just slide your picture into a wallet so that the top edge is pressing right up against the top left hand corner of the wallet.
Next, take some scissors and, holding the picture in place, carefully cut the wallet down so that it becomes the same size as the picture, and so that it will open up like this.
Dab some stick glue on the back of the picture, and secure it inside the plastic wallet.
With the plastic flap down, use a black permanent pen or marker to draw the outlines of your picture onto the plastic.
Then open the picture frame out flat, and fold the uncut section into the middle.

Insert your picture - so that the plastic flap is over the top of the card fold and that the coloured picture is behind it.
Fold the frame piece down over the top.

Now all you have to do is grip the picture by the semicircle, say some suitably magic words, and pull the picture out!
Of course, the choice of picture is up to you.

Here's one of a space rocket.
