Here's an idea for a map that shows what you did on holiday, and displays all your souvenirs!
You will need:
Start by collecting any bits and pieces that you've kept from your holidays, like postcards, tickets and shells. |
While you're on holiday, or when you get back, make a really rough map of all the
places that you went to. It doesn't need to be accurate. This one has a hotel, a fairground, a beach, a fish and chip shop, and a pottery museum! |
Now to turn all of these bits and pieces into a holiday map! Copy all of the main bits neatly onto a another piece of paper. Draw a little picture to represent each place that you visited. |
Add in some roads as well. |
When you've finished, you'll have something that looks like this. |
When you're happy with it, colour it in. |
Then, take all the bits that you've collected and add them onto the map. Shells for the beach, a fork from the chip shop, a ticket for the museum, and an empty shampoo bottle from the hotel! |
Finally, glue everything down into position with PVA glue. |
One finishing touch is to back it onto some cardboard to make it nice and sturdy. There it is - your own holiday map. |

Here's a holiday map of a visit to Egypt. This one has plane tickets and some foreign money. |

And this one's from a weekend in the countryside. Try it yourself! |
