Have you ever had a dream or fantasy about being a powerful king or queen? Well, here's how to make your very own throne to rule over your bedroom!
You will need:
To make your throne, take a large piece of cardboard box card.
If necessary, open up a box really flat to get a really large piece.
Hold it against the side of your chair, and mark the card where the back, feet and legs are.
Take the card away.
To design your fantasy throne, use the marks as a guide. Make it nice and fancy because it's a throne, and take your time to make it look as good as you can.
Thicken up all the legs too.
When you've finished, cut it out.
Draw around this shape to create a second identical throne.
Make sure you draw on the correct side, so that you end up with a piece for the left hand side, and a piece for the right hand side.
Copy the design on to it.
Decorate the two sides of your throne.
Pasta is perfect for this, especially the bow-tie type.
Alternatively, add some PVA glue to all your lines, and place some rolled up bits of tissue or newspaper, to create a carved effect.
When you've finished, you'll have something that looks like this.
Use poster or acrylic paint to paint it.
Consider royal blue, gold and silver!
Rich red is great for the seat and the frills.
Paint the whole thing in bright royal colours.
When you've finished painting, highlight details with a black pen, sprinkle on some glitter, or add some sequins at the top.
Paint the back a colour to finish it off, and attach some fancy ribbons.
Finally, tie the sides of your throne to the chair. Try other designs, like a toadstool fantasy throne, or even a dreamy moon throne.
Try it yourself!
