This Art Attack is a crazy card idea to give your family and friends a shock!

You will need:
  • Card
  • Pen
  • Scissors
  • Rubber band
  • Modelling clay
  • Pencil
  • PVA glue
  • Thin card
  • Paintbrush
Fold a piece of card in half and on the front, draw a pleasant picture - like this lovely flower!
Next, on another piece of thin card, draw a creepy creature - but without arms.
Colour the creature in, then cut it out.

Use it as a template to draw around, so that you get the same shape.

You now have a front and back for the creepy creature!
Make a small hole in the centre of the back piece by pushing a sharp pencil through the card, into a ball of modelling clay.
Carefully put a pair of scissors through the hole and open it out to a slit that's about 1cm long.
Next, use the scissors again to cut a rubber band once, so that you have one long piece of rubber.
Thread both ends through the slit in the back piece, to get a loop...
...then snap off a piece of lolly stick that's a bit smaller than the creature, and pop it through the loop.
Pull the ends of the rubber tight so that the stick lays flat on the back!
Turn the creature's back over, paste on some PVA glue and stick the front to the back.

The idea is to align the front and back perfectly, with the rubber sandwiched between.
Pop a couple of paperclips on to the front and back to keep them together until the glue dries.
You now have a creature that has rubber arms!

Cut out some little hands from thin card and stick them to the ends of arms.
Now take the card that you started with, and glue the lolly stick to the inside of the card...
...like this.
When the glue has dried completely, take off the paper clips.

Wind the creature round and round...
...then carefully close the card.

When you present the card to an unsuspecting recipient, they'll be shocked by the spinning creature inside!

Try it yourself!
