Here's an Art Attack you can use to make some really distinctive celebration cards!
You will need:
Fold a long rectangle of card in half. |
Then, open it out again and place it face down. |
Use a pencil to make a mark about 2cm in from each edge, along the fold. |
Then measure 2cm either side of the fold, and use the pendil to make marks. |
Join the marks up with a ruler, to make little triangles. The idea is to fold down the lines. The easiest way to do this is to score down them. |
To score, take a pair of scissors and use some sticky tape to keep them closed. |
This allows you to safely run them down the edge of a ruler. |
When you've scored the lines, you'll be able to pinch them neatly to make hinges. |
Next, on another piece of card, draw and cut out two arms like these. |
Open the card out and glue the arms onto the bottom half of the hinges, like this. |
Bend one arm slightly back, and one slightly forward. |
Then, when you close the card, the arms should hide from view. If you can still see the arms, just reposition them while the glue is still wet. |
Open up the card again and draw on an excited person, taking care to line the drawing up with the arms. Make the drawing cartoon-like and simple... |
Colour the drawing in and you'll have something that looks like this! This one has had "Yippee Birthday" wording added too! |
