Drawing on coloured paper with a white pencil has a really sharp effect.
You will need:

The idea is to just draw normally, as you would with an ordinary pencil. Draw anything you like. Here you can see Neil doing doing Santa on a sleigh. |

Make sure you keep the white pencil very sharp! |

|
|

|
|

Now, instead of shading in the dark bits, use your white pencil to 'light-in' the light bits! Use the hatching technique - drawing little diagonal whisps on all the light bits. Also use this on all the edges facing the light in your picture. |

|
If your hatching gets a bit untidy, neaten up with lines going the other way. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
For really light bits (like Santa's beard!) press harder. |
|
|
|
|
