Make a simple frame from card to help you frame your drawings, and see how they'll look.
You will need:
Ever seen an artist doing this? |
It's a really good way of looking at something that you want to draw, and pick out the bit that you want to do. |
A better way to do this is to cut a frame out of a piece of card, and use that. |
If the frame is rectangular, you can also use it to decide if you want the picture to be sideways on ("landscape")... |
...or tall, like this ("portrait")! |
You can use the frame like a camera viewfinder, to help you focus on a particular detail - a part of a magazine cover, for example. |
And if you tape a lolly stick to the frame, like this... |
...you can pop it into a ball of sticky tack or modelling clay and position it so that it frames whatever you want to draw... |
...like this vase of flowers. |
Just draw what you see. |
Use the frame to make you focus on what it is that you want to draw. Try it yourself! |
